As you well know, I’ve been having a ton of fun playing with blueberries lately and this milkshake is yet another way we’ve enjoyed the berries.

From the blueberry compote poured over these crepes, to the lemon blueberry cookies and blueberry lemon bars, not to mention the blueberry cream cheese waiting in my fridge, I’ve been enjoying every blueberry bite this year.

When I spied a bit of leftover ice cream in the freezer, I knew exactly what I’d be doing with it last week – and these milkshakes did not disappoint. My youngest son was pretty darn happy he was in the kitchen with me that afternoon.

Blueberry Milkshake

You’ll need the following ingredients to make this recipe:

  • blueberries
  • milk
  • vanilla extract
  • vanilla ice cream
  • whipped cream for serving, if desired

Blueberry Milkshake Recipe

Combine the blueberries, milk, and vanilla extract in the blender. Puree for just long enough to break down the berries.

Add the ice cream to the blender and pulse a few times to achieve the desired consistency. Serve immediately. Top each glass with whipped cream, if desired.
