Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn
Feel free to church this up, but to make the basic version of this easy and fun treat, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- popcorn
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- extra virgin coconut oil
It’s best to use extra virgin coconut oil in this recipe because it is solid at room temperature but melts quickly when warmed. That makes it ideal for melt-in-your-mouth chocolate that stays firm until you eat it.
Chocolate Popcorn
Place the popcorn in a large airtight container and gently shake it a few times to send any unpopped kernels to the bottom of the container.
Line a sheet pan with parchment and spread half of the popcorn out across the pan, taking care not to include any kernels. Place the chocolate and the oil in a glass bowl and microwave at 50% power for a couple of minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.
Drizzle the popcorn generously with about half of the melted chocolate. Top with the remaining popcorn and then drizzle the rest of the chocolate over the popcorn. Let cool at room temp or in the refrigerator for a faster cooling time.
Once set, break apart and store in the airtight container.
