Oreo Brownies

Brownies are a fun treat for a kid’s party or just about any other occasion. These brownies were a ridiculous hit with my kids. All three of the boys thought it was crazy exciting to have Oreos IN their brownies.

Stirring the cookies into the brownie batter along with placing cookie pieces on top guarantees that each bite of gooey fudge brownie will be filled with chunks of Oreo cookies.

And if you’re anything like me, you are going to be slicing off slivers of these brownies each time you pass through the kitchen. There are Oreo chunks in every bite of these gooey fudge brownies and I simply couldn’t resist them.

The cookies in the batter make this a very rich Oreo brownie. I sliced them pretty small and we felt that was plenty for each serving. Served in hand or with a scoop of ice cream on top, this is sure to be a dessert that the kids will love.

Brownie Making Tips

I’m a big fan of using parchment paper when baking. If you don’t happen to have parchment on hand, you can also line the pan with foil and grease it well with butter or baking spray.

Lining the pan makes the brownies very easy to slice. When the brownies have cooled, you’ll be able to simply lift the brownies out of the pan, using the edge of the parchment or foil. Set the sheet of parchment or foil-lined brownies on a cutting board and slice into squares.

Lastly, if you don’t already know it, a disposable plastic knife is equal to a magic wand when slicing warm brownies. If you don’t want to wait for them to cool, or just want to serve those brownies warm, grab a plastic knife and slice away.

Oreo Stuffed Brownies

Preheat oven to 325°F. Line an 8 or 9-inch square pan with parchment paper. (Alternatively, you can line the pan with foil and grease it very well with butter or baking spray.)

Melt the butter in a large saucepan, over medium heat. When the butter has melted, add 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until they have melted. Remove from the heat, add the sugar, and stir to combine.

Add the vanilla extract and the eggs. Whisk or stir until smooth and shiny. Add the flour and salt and stir to combine.

Chop each cookie into quarters, and set aside 8-10 Oreo cookie chunks for topping. Stir the chopped Oreos into the batter, along with the reserved chocolate chips. Spread the batter into the bottom of the prepared pan and then place the remaining Oreo chunks into the top of the batter.

Bake for 28-30 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick shows moist crumbs. Let the bars cool completely before slicing.

Brownies with Oreos are an awesome treat, but the fun doesn’t stop there. The add-in options are nearly endless when it comes to making brownies.

While a good fudgy brownie is hard to beat, these Strawberry Frosted Brownies are a fun twist on the classic dessert. Mint Oreo Brownies are stuffed with mint Oreos, topped with mint frosting, and sprinkled with more crushed Oreo’s and a gooey fudge drizzle.

Rich, chewy fudge brownies filled with melting Andes mints and plenty of chocolate chips are brownie perfection.

The sweet fluff of mini marshmallows and the crunch of slivered almonds make these decadent rocky road brownies a killer treat.

If you need a rich chocolatey brownie swirled with a smooth pumpkin cheesecake you will want to make these again and again. If sharing is not your mood – or you can’t be trusted with an entire pan of brownies here is a recipe for a brownie for just one.

This afternoon, I baked these in a 9″ pan lined with foil, for 25 minutes. They came out looking exactly like your photographs and taste delicious.
