Creamy, fluffy peanut butter mousse (and this chocolate mousse too!) are no-bake summer desserts that get made frequently. This is the perfect after-dinner treat with friends, but it is also a fun dessert for no special occasion at all.

The peanut butter mousse is delicious all by itself, but dress it up with a drizzle of hot fudge, a few sliced bananas, a dollop of whipped cream, and some chocolate sprinkles? This becomes one heck of a dessert and people love it.

When the weather warms up, I’m all about the cold desserts. Not just the usual no-bake treats, but ice cream, mousse, and pudding are all on my must-make list in the summer.

I obviously lean towards ice cream most of the time, but sometimes? I just want something a little different. That’s where this peanut butter mousse comes into play. With just a few minutes of effort, you’ll have dessert tucked into the refrigerator just waiting for its moment to shine after dinner.

Easy Peanut Butter Mousse

You’ll need the following ingredients to make this recipe:

  • heavy cream
  • powdered sugar
  • cornstarch
  • cream cheese
  • peanut butter
  • vanilla extract

Make your life easier when measuring peanut butter by greasing measuring cups with butter (or spray with nonstick spray) before measuring. The peanut butter will slide right out.

Peanut Butter Mousse Recipe

Place 1 cup of cream in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until firm peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.

Transfer the whipped cream to a small bowl and set aside.

Combine the cream cheese, peanut butter, and vanilla in the same mixing bowl used for whipped cream.

Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and cornstarch and beat again, for about 1 minute.

Slowly add the remaining ¼ cup of cream while beating until smooth and creamy, about 30 seconds.

Use a spatula to gently stir in the reserved whipped cream until combined.

Scoop the mousse into individual cups or a large serving dish. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Top with sliced bananas, hot fudge, crushed cookies, shaved chocolate, or whipped cream, if desired before serving.

    Could this be used as a filling for in between cake layers? Maybe mix in some chopped peanut butter cups?
