No longer just a wintry treat at the local coffee shop, this Peppermint Mocha Creamer makes everyday coffee a wonderful delight with rich chocolate and peppermint flavor. Slow down and treat yourself to a moment with the first sip of your morning brew.

Peppermint Mocha Creamer
I never thought I would become a coffee person. Never. But, what I’ve discovered is that coffee is often about more than just caffeine. It’s part of a ritual. You get the earthy aroma of it brewing, the visual swirl and dance of light creamer poured into dark coffee. And, then there’s the first taste of it. The gift of a new day is here, ready to be savored.
So, give yourself the chance to do more than just chug down some bitter bean juice. Try adding a splash of peppermint mocha creamer in your morning ritual. Pair it with one of these super soft and moist pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting and see if it doesn’t make your day that much sweeter!

What Is In a Peppermint Mocha?
If you’re wondering what is in a peppermint mocha, then you’re not alone. I wondered about the difference, myself. But, it turns out that the difference between a peppermint syrup and a peppermint mocha is the mocha. And, ordering a mocha will get you slightly different things, depending on where you’re at.
The simplest way to explain it is that a “mocha” is going to be some form of chocolate with milk and espresso. Some places will steam a milk-based hot chocolate, while others will add a chocolate syrup or a custom chocolate sauce to the milk and espresso.
This peppermint creamer with mocha is a shortcut to the coffee shop experience, as you can make it ahead of time, and simply add some to your coffee on the go. And, if you’re someone who doesn’t like scalding hot coffee (I know, I know), you can even freeze a batch of this creamer in ice trays and then simply add a cube to your coffee whenever you want.

Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer
If you’ve ever searched for a limited edition or seasonal creamer at the store and been frustrated, then this peppermint mocha coffee creamer is for you. I swear the seasonal stuff is never in stock when I am craving these flavors the most.
So, a while back I made it my mission to make my own versions whenever the cravings hit. A lot of creamer recipes tend to use condensed milk, but I try to avoid that. Condensed milk just tastes too syrupy and sweet for me. And, I feel like I get better control over the sweetness and the flavor with cream and whole milk.
The only tip I want to stress is that you don’t need to simmer (let alone boil!) this creamer. The heat is only to help incorporate the dry ingredients smoothly. Once it’s a cohesive creamer, take it off the heat. If you heat milk too much, you risk breaking it.
My kids loved this peppermint creamer from pretty much the moment they discovered it. And, even before they were able to have coffee, they asked for it in their hot cocoa. These flavors make even a packet of hot chocolate feel fancy!

Homemade Coffee Creamers
These homemade coffee creamers with simple ingredients are some of my favorite morning treats. Especially when the weather changes and the temperature drops, I find myself reaching for these happy flavors to add to my mornings.
Homemade eggnog creamer is one of my guilty pleasures. It’s such a treat, even when Christmas feels so far away. And, you literally can’t go wrong making some of this easy pumpkin spice coffee creamer. It has just five ingredients!
And, what better to pair with an indulgent coffee creamer than a fabulous slice of coffee cake? If it’s fall, be sure to check out this extra rich pumpkin coffee cake. Closer to Christmas? Look no further than a cranberry coffee cake. Are you a peppermint fan long after the decorations have been put away? Make this delightfully fresh strawberry coffee cake!
And, if you are feeling the pull of nostalgia and want the easiest of old-fashioned desserts for a lazy brunch or weekend morning, you can sip your well-creamered coffee with a piece of this overnight coffee cake.

I love this! Been making my own plain creamers with maple syrup but wanted a flavored one to pair with a chocolate mint coffee bean. The flavors are perfect. I did skip the vanilla extract because I like the bite of mint over the sweetness. Thank you so much!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the creamer!
Finally a homemade creamer without the condensed milk! It’s amazing and so easy to customize. Thank you.
I’m thrilled that you are enjoying the creamer!
Hi!!
I have been using cane sugar to make this creamer. After several days, it gets kind of thick. Could this be from using cane sugar? Thank you!!
It does thicken a bit in the fridge. I usually just give it a shake to loosen it up. You could add a small splash of milk too, if it’s thicker than you like, Kaye.
Excellent creamer. Do you know if it can be frozen?
Hi, Jill. I haven’t tried freezing this creamer before.
This is a keeper! I love peppermint white mocha creamer but my store sold out of it. This is just as divine and I already had all of the ingredients ??
So happy to hear the creamer is a hit, Desiree!
This is the best homemade creamer I’ve tried!
I was thinking of also making it shelf stable. They have peppermint and vanilla both in powder form on Amazon. They even have heavy cream in powder form.
I’m glad you loved the creamer, Christy. I wouldn’t know how to make it shelf-stable, but I’m glad you’ve been enjoying experimenting with the recipe.
Delicious!!! What’s your secret to the cocoa powder not clumping?
Hi, Brenda. If you’re having trouble with cocoa powder clumping, you can sift/shake it beforehand.
This is exactly what I have been looking for! Something without the condensed milk that I can use sugar alternatives with!
I’m glad it was helpful, Kaitlyn. Enjoy the creamer!
How long will this last in the refrigerator?
This will keep nicely for a week at least, Teresa. The creamer will be good for however long the dairy ingredients are fresh.
