Peaches and Cream Bars start with a brown sugar crumb crust filled with fresh peaches and creamy custard. These bars are everything I love about peach season tucked into a wonderfully easy-to-make dessert.
Peaches and Cream Bars
If you like custard pies and Peach Cream Pie, you will love these Peach Bars.
These bars have all the delicious custard in the middle and they are easier and quicker than pie to make. The brown sugar crumb crust gets a huge thumbs up, as it is completely irresistible all by itself.
How To Make A Brown Sugar Crust
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until pea-sized crumbs are formed.
- Reserve 2 cups of the crumb mixture for the topping and press the remainder into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
Peaches Bars Recipe
- While the crust is baking, cream together the sugar and cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, milk, flour, vanilla, and salt and beat to combine. Gently stir in the peaches.
- Remove the crust from the oven and gently pour the peach filling onto the crust. Top with the remaining crumb mixture.
- Bake for 32-35 minutes or until filling is set. Let cool before slicing.

If you don’t have fresh peaches, can you use canned peaches instead?
Mary says
Susan – Yes, canned will work just be sure to drain them.
Roxi Johnson says
These are so yummy! I added some finely chopped pecans in the crust!
Can these be frozen?
Mary says
While you can freeze them, I would not recommend it as the custard filling will likely be extremely “weepy” when you thaw them.
April Kudrna says
Can you use frozen peaches
Mary says
Hi, April! Frozen peaches should work in the recipe, but keep an eye out to make sure the texture is staying consistent as they thaw. I hope you love the peaches and cream bars. Happy baking!
Terry says
I want to make this but I want to verify the butter amount. It calls for 1 1/4 cups. That is 2 1/2 sticks of butter. Is this correct?
Mary says
Yes, that’s right, Terry. A standard batch requires 2 1/2 sticks of butter. I hope you love the bars!
