This peach cobbler with canned peaches is what that I remember my grandmother making when I was little. The topping is a little bit cakey, and buttery sweet, and the peaches fall through as it bakes and create juicy pockets of fruit in each bite.

Fresh peach cobbler is sublime, but peach season is so ephemeral. It’s here and it’s gone, leaving us all wanting more. Enter this easy peach cobbler with canned peaches.

This is the best version of the kind of peach cobbler many of us grew up eating at our grandmother’s tables. And because our grandmothers were pretty busy ladies, we can trust their recipes as being reliable. They didn’t have time for recipes that didn’t work!

There’s nothing even remotely complicated or costly about making this easy peach cobbler recipe with canned peaches.

All it takes to create another generation who remembers this dessert fondly is one bowl, one pan, a whisk, and a few common ingredients.

Peach Cobbler Recipe with Canned Peaches

To make this old fashioned peach cobbler, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • canned peaches
  • butter
  • milk
  • flour
  • sugar
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • cinnamon

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the butter in a 10-inch baking dish and set the pan in the warm oven. When the butter has melted, remove the pan from the oven.

While the butter is melting, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a medium size bowl and whisk to combine. Add the milk and whisk smooth.

Remove the melted butter from the oven and rotate the pan to coat the bottom. Carefully pour the batter in an even layer over the butter. Use a spoon (or your hands) to place peaches evenly over the batter.

Bake at 350°F for 35-45 minutes, until the crust is golden brown. Serve warm, topped with ice cream or a spoonful of whipped cream.
