Homemade eggnog coffee creamer is a holiday pleasure, made with a few simple ingredients you won’t regret splurging on.
Eggnog Coffee Creamer
I know it sounds cliche but I am a fan of holiday-centric foods and flavors. You know the tastes and smells that bring about certain memories and feelings. The things that just seem to taste better at certain times of the year.
Eggnog is one of those holiday flavors for me. A splash of eggnog as coffee creamer is a treat for me. However, after discovering I could make a homemade coffee creamer with heavy cream taste just like eggnog I was in heaven!
Most homemade coffee creamer recipes use condensed milk for the sweetener. I know not everyone can taste it, but condensed milk is made with evaporated milk, and evaporated milk has always had a weird taste to me. (The only recipe I make with evaporated milk is this classic pumpkin pie and it’s perfect as is.)
So, I prefer to make homemade coffee creamer without condensed milk. Plus, by using sugar, monk fruit sweetener, or any sweetener of your choice you can control the amount of sugar a little bit better.
It is important to completely dissolve the sugar in the milk and heavy cream. Slowly heating your milk and cream with the sugar will do this nicely. You don’t want to boil this mixture just make sure it is heated through so the sugar dissolves.
After removing the mixture from the heat, add your vanilla and rum extracts, then transfer to an airtight container in the refrigerator to chill completely. If I am planning a cozy Saturday at home I have been known to add a splash of rum to my coffee with eggnog creamer.
Since this eggnog coffee creamer recipe is just milk and cream I love using my frother to make a nice foamy eggnog cream for my coffee. Froth it cold for a luscious cold foam. Or warm it in the microwave for 30 seconds and then froth for a latte-like foam and flavor.

Homemade Coffee Creamer Recipes
Coffee creamers made from scratch help a little with the holiday budget and make it easier to skip that morning coffee shop stop. Every once in a while I still enjoy a coffee shop morning, but most of the time I’m super happy to enjoy my lattes at home now.
The yummy pumpkin sweetness of this pumpkin spice creamer comes from the brown sugar flavors. It gives a bit deeper richness with a hint of caramel to it. Peppermint Mocha Creamer is so good in your coffee or hot chocolate.
Italian Cream Liqueur is perfect for sipping, stirring into hot coffee or tea, drizzling over a rich cake, or even serving with berries.
