Homemade Chicken Taco Seasoning
Wondering what’s the difference between chicken taco seasoning and regular taco seasoning? Honestly, not a whole lot. The spice lists are nearly identical.
Chicken taco seasoning tends to be a little bit less spicy. Some of the store-bought seasoning packets have a lime concentrate added to them for chicken. So, squeeze some fresh lime over the chicken and you’ll be set for the best chicken tacos you’ve ever made.
I use this spice mix frequently when making Last Minute Chicken. My go-to cooking method for this chicken is my grill pan on the stove. Season the chicken generously on both sides with the seasoning blend.
To pan fry or grill the chicken on the stovetop, heat a nonstick grill pan over medium heat. Drizzle lightly with oil and place the chicken in the grill pan, making sure there is space between each piece.
Allow the chicken to cook without touching it for 5 minutes. Flip over and cook an additional 3-5 minutes until cooked through. Let the cooked chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

- chili powder

- In a small bowl, stir together all of the spices. Store the seasoning mix in an airtight container. I keep mine in a glass mason jar in my spice cabinet.
