Loaded with plenty of flavors, beans, and meat, this Quick Chili is a 15-minute meal that comes together easily for the busiest of days.
Served on its own with your favorite toppings, tossed into a taco salad, or baked with cornbread, this is a winning weeknight dinner.
Quick Chili
This simple five-ingredient recipe delivers great chili flavor with just a few minutes spent cooking over the stove. (That’s typically how we make it.)
However, the chili will thicken and be even more delicious if you’re inclined to simmer it through the day on the stove or in the crockpot.
Quick Chili Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning, (1) 1-ounce packet worth
- 30 ounce canned chili or ranch-style beans, (2) 15-ounce cans worth
- 10 ounce canned diced tomatoes with green chile
- 8 ounce canned tomato sauce
As much as I love a hearty bowl of chili, if I’m being honest, chili is all about the toppings for me. I topped my bowl with chili cheese corn chips this time, but it’s also delicious with plain corn chips or crushed tortilla chips.
A scoop of sour cream, a sprinkling of cheese, chopped cilantro, green or red onions are all terrific chili toppings as well.
Optional Chili Toppings
- shredded cheddar cheese
- sour cream
- chopped cilantro
- sliced green onions
- corn chips or crushed tortilla chips
Quick Chili Recipe
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef with the taco seasoning.
- Add the chili beans, tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer.
- Scoop into bowls and add toppings, as desired.

French Bread Pizza is a fast dinner that my kids really love, as are these skillet recipes for Cheesy Sausage Pasta and Chicken Fajitas.
Classic and well-loved Taco Soup is another dinner that I almost always double, just so that we’ll have plenty left for a second meal.
