Meatloaf Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef my preference is 80/20
  • 2/3 cup quick cook oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Meatloaf Topping

  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce my preference is sweet and spicy


  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine all meatloaf ingredients in a bowl and then mix together with your hands or a wooden spoon.
  • Shape into a loaf form* on a foil-lined baking sheet. Pour the barbecue sauce over the meatloaf prior to baking. Bake for 65-70 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 170 degrees.
  • Allow the meatloaf to rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional barbecue sauce, if desired. Enjoy!


This recipe doubles nicely. Form two loaves on a large sheet pan or in separate 9x13 pans and bake them side by side.
