- ½ cup butter softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon molasses
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 7 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1 ⅔ cup all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 12 ounces dark chocolate for dipping
Cream together the butter, brown sugar, molasses, and vanilla in a large bowl. Add the sweetened condensed milk, flour, and salt. Stir until smooth. Add mini chocolate chips.
Roll the dough into 40 balls, slightly less than an inch in diameter. Place the balls on a parchment lined baking sheet and chill for an hour.
Gently melt the chocolate over low heat in a double boiler or in the microwave at 10 second intervals. Dip each of the chilled truffles in the chocolate and let cool completely on parchment paper. Truffles will last a week in the refrigerator or several weeks in the freezer.
