Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows plus ½ cup reserved
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Frosting Ingredients

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds for topping

Instructions

Brownie Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease an 8-inch square pan with butter or line with parchment. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add 1 cup chocolate chips and stir until melted. Remove from the heat. Add the sugar and vanilla, and stir until smooth.
  • Whisk in the eggs. Add the flour and salt. Stir until well combined. Stir in 2 cups marshmallows and ¾ cup chocolate chips. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with remaining marshmallows.
  • Bake for 26-28 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the brownies comes out with wet crumbs.

Frosting Instructions

  • While the brownies are in the oven, warm the cream in a medium-sized glass bowl in the microwave until simmering, about 60-90 seconds. Add the chocolate to the cream and let it sit for 2 minutes.
  • Whisk to combine, until the chocolate mixture is smooth and glossy. Add the sugar and cocoa powder and whisk again until completely smooth.
  • Remove the brownies from the oven and pour the frosting over the top. Sprinkle with almonds.

Notes

SLICING TIP: Use a disposable plastic knife to slice warm or extra gooey brownies for a cleaner edge.
