In reply to judy Hanson. Hi Judy, the ranch seasoning mix mellows the broth a little bit while adding just a slight creaminess and tang to the soup. All of the spices and herbs in the mix add to the rich base of the soup as well.

I notice that you use ranch seasoning mix in your chili and chili soup. Is this to make the dishes less spicy? If not for that, what does the ranch dressing do for the recipes?

In reply to Angie. Yes, you'll need (3) 14.5 oz cans of diced tomatoes. You can drain the meat if it's especially greasy, but I rarely need to do that.

This says 43.5 oz. of diced tomatoes? Is this accurate? And…do you drain the grease from the ground beef and onion?
