Broiling grapefruit brings a new level of flavor to the fruit and creates a warm, sweet treat for any time of the day. Whether you’re serving it as an after-dinner dessert or a simple breakfast, it’s a fun new way to enjoy your grapefruit.

I figured I should try and sneak in one or two healthier recipes before winter is over and everyone forgets those healthy eating goals.

I don’t typically make any big eating goals at the start of the year, but for the past couple of months, I’ve been trying to eat at least 3 servings of vegetables a day along with the fruits that I love.

I’ve learned that it is more effective for me to set goals related to consuming nutritious foods than to set a restrictive diet. It’s amazing how much less junk I eat when I’m filling up on fresh fruits and vegetables.

How To Broil Grapefruit

This is about the easiest dessert recipe you’ll come across. I grew up eating it for breakfast so it’s a great way to start the day as well.

  1. First cut your grapefruit in half. If you want, cut along each section to separate the fruit from the membrane. This is optional, but I find it’s easier to scoop out the fruit after broiling
  2. Sprinkle on some sugar and cinnamon
  3. Pop under a preheated broiler for 3-5 minutes
  4. That’s it, enjoy while still warm!

Since it’s grapefruit season and there are already a lot of citrus recipes focusing on lemons, limes, and oranges, I thought it would be fun to highlight some dessert recipes using grapefruit.
